STREET ART IN MOTION

A classic open-top roadster becomes a moving canvas for LBFILM, with energetic orange brushwork, expressive eyes and a show-ready identity.

PROJECT AT A GLANCE

  • Vehicle: Mazda MX-5 (NA)
  • Style: Street-art / racing-inspired graphics
  • Palette: Cream white, high-energy orange, charcoal
  • Featured at: APAxpo 2026

A Small Roadster, a Big Visual Statement

The Mazda MX-5 (NA) has a shape that needs little introduction: a compact nose, pop-up headlights and a lightweight open-top silhouette. For this LBFILM project, the goal was not to disguise that character. It was to give the car a new visual voice while leaving its instantly recognizable form in the spotlight.

Cream-white bodywork creates space for sweeping orange and dark gray brush-stroke graphics. The artwork feels quick and hand-drawn, moving across the front fenders, doors and rear quarters as one connected composition.

The Details Carry the Personality

The LBFILM name anchors the sides, while a pair of mischievous eyes adds a character-driven signature. The number 13 and smaller graphic details introduce a playful motorsport reference. Together, these elements bring streetwear energy into a familiar Japanese roadster.

The most interesting parts of the design reveal themselves up close: color transitions beside the pop-up headlights, brush marks sweeping past the wheel arches and the way the graphics read even when the roof is open.

From Studio Presentation to the Show Floor

The project was photographed in a clean indoor setting and later shown among other enthusiast builds at APAxpo 2026. That contrast is part of the story: the same graphics stand on their own against a neutral background, then become part of a larger automotive culture scene on the exhibition floor.

For brands and creators, a show-car livery can connect an object with an audience. It can carry a visual system across the vehicle, photography, merchandise and event presentation.

Beyond the Film

The MX-5 is a reminder that a strong custom wrap does not have to shout with every square inch. The right mix of recognizable geometry, expressive graphics and carefully placed branding can turn a familiar car into a memorable project.
