Meet XING ZAI: The Lion-Dance-Inspired Mascot Who Sees Different

Meet XING ZAI: bold-eyed, playful, a little rebellious, and not particularly interested in being told who to be.

XING ZAI is the original character at the heart of LBFILM’s growing creative universe. He connects our automotive roots with culture, design, collectibles, and a more personal way of expressing individuality.

From Lingnan Culture to a New Character

XING ZAI draws inspiration from the traditional lion dance of Lingnan, a region in southern China known for its rich cultural heritage. The energy of the lion, the rhythm of the performance, and the spirit of courage all help shape his personality.

But this is not a literal recreation of a traditional lion. XING ZAI takes those influences into a contemporary visual language—furry black textures, vivid orange accents, exaggerated eyes, and a distinctly street-inspired attitude.

Don’t Rush to Define Me

XING ZAI understands the value of traditions, but he also believes there should be room to question assumptions. He can be confident without being rigid, playful without being careless, and different without needing to explain himself.

His outlook can be summed up in three ideas:

  • Respect the roots. Know where you come from and appreciate the traditions that shaped you.
  • Question expectations. Ask why things have to be done a certain way.
  • Walk your own path. Make room for your own judgment and style.

The Eyes That Say It All

His most recognizable feature is a pair of sharply outlined eyes: white contours, energetic orange pupils, and a downward-pointing orange triangle between them. These features make XING ZAI recognizable, even without showing the full character.

For us, the eyes represent a way of thinking. It is possible to notice trends, respect other people’s choices, and still trust your own perspective. That is the idea behind I SEE DIFFERENT.

More Than a Mascot
