LBFILM / CUSTOM LIVERY PROJECTS
BLACK WARRIOR
A dark-on-dark BMW 540i custom wrap uses layered graphics, a bold eye motif and a restrained palette to connect automotive design with live show culture.

Make Black Work Harder
At first glance, the BMW 540i Black Warrior is deliberately restrained. Its dark body and low-contrast graphic layers create a different type of presence from a brightly colored exhibition car. The design is meant to be discovered as you move closer and light begins to reveal the artwork.

Broad black and graphite forms stretch over the doors and fenders. Subtle LBFILM lettering blends into the body rather than sitting on top as a bright badge. This quieter approach gives the graphics depth without overwhelming the sedan’s existing shape.

A Character Hidden in the Surface
The most expressive feature sits on the hood: a pair of angular eyes built into dark, brush-like textures. The motif is unmistakable up close but intentionally less obvious from across the room.

Smaller patterned areas, diagonal streaks and the graphic number 2 create motion around the side profile. As the close-up images show, the effect comes from the relationship between adjacent dark tones, not from exaggerated color contrasts.

Studio Detail, Exhibition Energy
Clean studio photographs reveal how the surfaces work under directional light, including the front, side lettering and rear graphics. Photos from APAxpo 2026 then place the same vehicle in a busy automotive community setting, where the subdued finish contrasts with the color and movement of the crowd.

The BMW also appeared within LBFILM’s basketball-and-car-culture event activities. This connection between a custom vehicle and a live audience is an important part of its story: design becomes more meaningful when people experience it together.

Beyond the Film
The Black Warrior shows that impact does not always require bright color. With carefully layered textures, considered placement and recognizable brand symbols, a dark finish can carry a clear identity from the photo studio to the show floor.
